• Maryborough Walking Trails

Overview

Looking to escape outdoors, away from the crowds to exercise and take your mind off things?  Maryborough has excellent walking trails and experiences to offer! Keep yourself fit and explore our natural and historic features. To really comprehend the Central Goldfields, you've got to get out there and experience it. With stunning natural parks and mountain ranges along with fabulous creeks, rivers and lakes, you will appreciate what we have to offer.

Bushwalking, hiking, cycling, fishing, canoeing, camping, bird watching and more is on offer, with quality experiences for all ages and stages. Escape the everyday, disconnect in order to reconnect, breathe in the air, be humbled by the mountains and the forests, and walk in the footsteps of the gold miners who uncovered riches beneath the soil over one hundred years ago. Adventurous, relaxed, nostalgic, spontaneous....

Whether you're a novice with an interest in bushwalking, a hiker who likes a little more of a challenge, or someone who simply enjoys a stroll past points of significance, there's a track or trail perfectly suited for you.

The Maryborough Bush and Town walk takes a 25km trail through both town and country that can be broken down in to smaller walks depending on your time, fitness level and interest.

Take in an easy walk close to town with the Lake Victoria Walking Trail, or if you're feeling a little fitter, head deep into Paddy's Ranges State Park by following the track, If time is of the essence, perhaps just tackle part of the 1,954 hectare forest on the 1.8km Paddy's Ranges Walking Trail.

Alternatively, you can enjoy both history and natural beauty on a trail that leads from the Battery Dam Historic Site to the Bull Gully Rock Wells, and just out of Talbot is the Mt Greenock Reserve - a great place to enjoy a picnic if you need a place to rest after all that walking! Strap on your hiking boots and head up to Mt Moliagul Lookout where you can enjoy stunning views across bush land. It's also a great place for kangaroo spotting. Just down the road is the equally picturesque Mt Bealiba Lookout.
