In and around Maryborough you’ll find some great opportunities for a little retail therapy, be it in the go-to vintage and collectables hotspot of Nolan Street, the fashion and homewares mecca of High Street, or around the surrounding towns and villages where fantastic local produce, hard to find antiques and plenty of surprises await.

One thing is for sure, while Maryborough might be the hub for shopping in the Central Goldfields, there are plenty of gold nuggets to be unearthed in the surrounding area. Take the Talbot Farmers Market for example. It’s often thought of as one of the best fresh produce markets in country Victoria. On the third Sunday of each month, thousands of visitors descend on this character-filled country town to fill their fridges with freshness, and to peruse the wares of local artists and swap meet purveyors to boot.

Dunolly, Talbot and Carisbrook are filled with boutique shopping opportunities. Old fashioned lolly shops, gourmet food suppliers and speciality boutiques, antiques and collectables are just some of what you’ll discover when you stroll along the main streets of each town.

Back in Maryborough you’ll quickly discover it’s about more than just woollen skivvies these days, with a feast of fashion boutiques, heaps of homewares, bountiful bookshops and a variety of vintage and collectables to be uncovered.
