At Railway Cafe & Tracks Bar, you will be warmly welcomed into a spectacular historic building, the famous Maryborough Railway Station. Adorned with original open fire place, and stained led light windows, you will be in awe of the beauty and scale of this magnificent venue.
The cafe is located in the original refreshments room that has been used since the gold rush. Once you have dined, take a look through the incredible ‘Great Hall’, originally used as a resting place for many a traveller back in the day, as well as many social gatherings and dances. It now hosts as an art gallery featuring prints and canvas’s, cushions, small and large homewares, giftware and much more.
Just a few steps off the V/line train from Melbourne which arrives twice a day during the week via Ballarat, we are the perfect spot to stop and reenergise with a cup of our renowned Amanti coffee before you venture out to see more of this great little town. We cater to groups small and large, group bookings are essential for catering purposes. Or come and dine more intimately with your friends and loved ones. Railway Cafe & Tracks Bar is a family owned business which is located in the historic Maryborough Railway Station. With a vintage industrial feel, the dining area seats around 60. The magnificent open fire place adds warmth on those winter days and creates a homely atmosphere. This area can expand into the ‘Great Hall’ for specialty occasions such as weddings and birthdays with a maximum capacity up to 120 for seated functions, 200 for canapé functions. We offer a modern Australian style menu consisting of ‘pub style’ favourites to more gourmet chef created meals. We can cater for dietary requirements, feel free to call us ahead to discuss.

We pride ourselves as a point of difference, not only due to our unique location, our welcoming staff, generous and delicious meals, incredible giftware and art, regular social gatherings such and music nights (local, national and even international talent) and specialty menu nights such as Tapas and Degustations, Friday Happy Hours featuring amazing cocktails and local wines are just an example of what we offer.

Apart from our day to day cafe and restaurant operations, one of our specialties is hosting custom functions, unique to the groups that book our venue, from menu, to decor and size of the space used, we are flexible to make special occasions everything the customer desires. We consistently have guests wowed at what we can do with this magnificent building, from weddings (including many ceremonies performed on the vast platform as well as receptions with guests numbers ranging from 20 to 200!) birthdays, conferences, music and theatre performances, auctions, meet and greets with famous authors and actors, social club gatherings (eg, Probus, Lions Clubs, Motorcycle/Car Clubs just to mention a few) We have even hosted a private dinner for the Governor of Victoria. Functions are just not limited to evenings, we can cater anytime of the day, examples include buffet breakfasts, morning or afternoon tea, lunch and dinner, or finger food and drinks to go on well into the night. We have a list of different function packages but they are always flexible to cater to your specific needs, just call us to discuss.

In the cafe, breakfast is available from 10am-11:30am, and lunch served until 2pm Wednesday to Sunday. We also have a range of fresh sandwiches and wraps as well as take away coffee and other drinks for customers on the run. Our restaurant is open from 6pm Thursday to Sunday. Our menus change regularly and we provide daily specials on the blackboard. All meals are a la carte.
