There is no greater place for kids of all ages to enjoy than nature’s playground, and the Central Goldfields has beauty, excitement, adventure and relaxation on offer in equal measure.

Take in boating and fishing by the picturesque waters of Goldfields Reservoir, Cairn Curran Reservoir, the Loddon River and Laanecoorie Reservoir. Take in the sights from Bristol Hill Lookout, or for the more adventurous, head to the top of Mt Bealiba to see across to the Grampians.

See if you can strike it rich by searching for gold in one of the wealthiest alluvial gold locations in the world. Explore Box-Ironbark trees, hundreds of wildflowers and plenty of fauna via the walking and cycling tracks in and around Paddy’s Ranges State Park, Maryborough Regional Park and Craigie State Forest.

Take your time and stay a few days by setting up camp in one of the region’s many camping grounds and remember what’s great about the great outdoors.
