Whether coming to the Central Goldfields by car, coach or rail, you’ll find the journey almost as satisfying as the destination.

Passing through ever-changing landscapes and countless character- filled Victorian country towns, you’ll discover plenty of Insta worthy moments along the way.

Maryborough is around 140km from Melbourne as the crow flies, in human terms, that adds up to a 2 hour drive or around 3 hours by public transport. Getting here there are a few options you can chose from. If travelling from Melbourne you can either come through the happening town of Castlemaine or via the gold rush boomtown of Ballarat, which is one hour to the south of Maryborough.

Meanwhile the lively regional city of Bendigo is just one hour to the northeast. Being located right in the centre of Victoria’s Golden Triangle, Maryborough is the perfect central base for exploring the Goldfields.
