Cycling and Walking Trails
There is no better way to explore the Central Goldfields region than getting amongst it. On foot or by bike, there is an abundance of tracks throughout the shire that allow all ages and fitness levels to get up close and personal with the beauty of the area.
The Maryborough Town and Bush walk showcases many of the historical features of the township, as well as introducing those on the trail to the magic of the Maryborough Regional Park, Paddy’s Ranges State Park and Craigie State Forest. This 25km walk can also be enjoyed in sections. If you’d rather increase your speed, hop on a bike! There are eight tracks around Maryborough and surrounds, and seven tracks around Dunolly, all differing in difficulty and distance.
Making the most of the spectacular scenery and trailing through a variety of riding conditions, the tracks vary in length from 11km to 80km, ensuring there is plenty to enjoy. For the riders seeking an even greater distance, the 91km trail through village life, farmland and rolling hills on the Ballarat to Maryborough Heritage Trail is certainly one to enjoy.
With parking areas, picnic tables, toilets and camping facilities throughout, it’s well worth packing a bag and experiencing an adventure.
