The theme for Words In Winter this year is "Renaissance".

This exciting festival depicting our talented writers, artists, and showcasing vibrant exhibitions throughout the Central Goldfields Shire.

"Renaissance" commences Saturday 7th through to Sunday 15th August.

Word Pictures - Central Goldfields Art Gallery & Maryborough Writers

Maryborough Writers' Group will write their interpretations in response to viewing four artworks from the Central Goldfields Art Gallery permanent collection. Literary responses will be shared in a public reading session at Central Goldfields Art Gallery. All members of the public are welcome to attend to listen to the readings and see the artworks.

Museum of Lost and Found: Stories of Australian Adoptees

A session led by local author, Janice Simpson, features readings from stories about place and identity of adoptees to enrich participants' understanding of the fragmentary history of adoption in Australia, when the adoption of children was conducted and sanctioned by both the church and the state. Also included is an exhibition of artefacts created by Janice.
