Held annually in August, "Words in Winter" 2023, is a writers' festival celebrating stories and ideas shared by local and visiting presenters.

The presentations include performance, music, storytelling, authors, comedy, poetry, talks, workshops and exhibitions.

Saturday 29 July & Sunday 30 July: 2pm-4.30pm

Johann Sebastian Bach's remarkable homage to the concept of Equal Temperament presented by the talented pianist, tenor, and story-teller Julian Bailey.

Viewed through the lens of stories and explanation, this beautiful old music becomes accessible and fascinating.

A journey to the sublime and back, The Preludes, and Fugues of Johann Sebastian Bach, Book 1, No's 1-24.

The audience is invited to ask questions during the performance and learn more about the feelings behind the music to get a totally personal exploration of Bach's music.

Two performances only, by the fireside in the Melba Lounge of Buckley's of Dunolly.

Hear from our local author Craig Ellery, writing as Vince Craig, as he shares his inspirations leading up to his debut fiction 'Truth Be Told', a thriller set in the Central Goldfields, of a former Australian SAS Veteran as he battles through dangerous terrain and encounters treacherous characters in his quest of the truth unearthing a government conspiracy.
