It's certainly been a challenging year for everyone, and we look forward to ending the year with some Christmas festivities to cheer us up.

Maryborough and Surrounds will come to life with some awesome events and end of year celebrations and experiences. We have some great events to see help you see in the new year.

Check out our favourite things to see and do in the region this festive season.

Carols By Candlelight

Come along and enjoy a festive evening, and be entertained with local talented vocalists and musicians performing your favorite Christmas carols.

Embrace the festive atmosphere from 6pm Sunday 19th December. This event was rescheduled to the Maryborough Harness Racing Club, due to bad weather.

Food vans will be available.

Light Up Talbot

Join in and turn on your own lights as we light up the Christmas tree in Pioneer Park on Friday 3rd December from 6pm.

Join carols sung by the Serendipity Singers and watch as 'The Garden of Enchantment' and our historic town centre 'Light Up'.

Have a sausage at the community sausage sizzle, or dine at the Talbot Provedore and Eatery for Local's Night or the Court House Hotel.

Proceeds from the sausage sizzle will be donated to the Talbot Library.

Local Shopping Christmas Promotions

The Maryborough District Advertiser are supporting our local retailers with the Christmas Shopping Promotion, with almost 70 businesses participating in it's biggest year yet.

Pop into the participating retailers and make a purchase, then go into the weekly draw to win your prize.

Community Christmas Party

You don't need to be alone at Christmas. Once again the Carisbrook Lions Club are inviting you to celebrate Christmas with them, and join in the festivities with a free traditional Christmas meal provided.

On Christmas Day Saturday 25th December from 11am, at the Maryborough Trotting Complex.

If you have no way of travelling out, the Carisbrook Lions Club have a bus pick up, starting from 10am.

Bookings are essential via the Visitor Information Centre: 5460 4511.

Proof of double vaccination is required. QR code scan on entry or sign in.

Carols on the Oval

Come along and celebrate Christmas Eve Friday 24th December, with the Maryborough Salvos, at their Carols on the Oval.

Bring along your picnic rug, or chair, and enjoy sausage sizzle and entertainment, with check in from 5pm.

Carols commence from 6pm, (people above the age of 12 years and 2 months of age, will be required to be fully vaccinated).

New Year's Eve Party At Station Domain

Everyone is welcome to attend New Year's Eve at the Domain, to welcome in the new year in style from 6pm to midnight.

Join in fun night of entertainment for the whole family and all ages. BBQ and drinks (gold coin donation), live music, and food vans in attendance.

Free activities, Parkers Mini Circus, Laughing Clowns, raffle draws.
