Overview

The Tarnagulla History Archive is a repository for all things related to the local history of Tarnagulla and its surrounding district. The Archive holds photographs, records and artefacts and was established with funds by a PROV Local History Grant. The Archive is situated within the historic Victoria Hotel and Theatre complex, which functions as Tarnagulla's Public Hall. It is open on the second Sunday of each month (except on Code Red days).

At Open Days visitors can:

  • View temporary displays of local history images, footage and artefacts.
  • Have local history questions answered by a local historian
  • Lodge research requests
  • Order copies of historical images
  • Buy local history books
  • Register interest as a volunteer, a donor or for email updates

Tarnagulla Pioneers Portrait

An example of pieces you can view at the Archive Room. This is a small portion of an old glass plate reproduction of the well known and magnificent Pioneer Portraits montage in the Victoria Theatre.
