Come the warmer months and Bridgewater on Loddon is water skiing central. Visitors with speed boats-in-tow line the historic street and the Loddon River becomes a highway of waves as thrill seekers make good use of the permanent ski ramp. A little further north the Little Lake Boort is a perfect place to carve some waves. Bridgewater is famous as the host of the annual Australian Masters Water Ski Championships each January, which attracts the country’s top skiers for serious competition in trick, slalom and jump. A visit to the town is a must for all water ski enthusiasts, to see three days of seriously skilled competition. Otherwise the river welcomes skiers of all abilities for fun on the water. Book a site at the waterside caravan parks in Bridgewater or Boort to be close to the action. Bridgewater on Loddon’s historic hotel and famed bakehouse are just a short walk away for supplies.
