Exploring the Loddon Valley by caravan or motorhome is a relaxing and rewarding way to experience the region’s wide-open landscapes, welcoming communities and authentic country hospitality. With scenic lakes, national parks and historic towns to discover, the region makes an ideal stopover or base for travellers exploring central and northern Victoria.
The Loddon Valley proudly offers three RV Friendly Towns — Boort, Pyramid Hill and Wedderburn — each providing convenient access to town centres, essential facilities and nearby attractions.
Multiple public dump points are available across the region, helping travellers stay comfortable while exploring.
1. Boort
Boort’s free RV Friendly site is located at the Recreation Reserve on Malone Street, within easy walking distance of the town centre and Lake Boort. The site caters to self-contained vehicles, with a maximum stay of 96 hours. Donations are appreciated, with a donation box located onsite.
Boort offers two public dump points, both with free public access:
- Recreation Reserve, Malone Street
- Beside the Boort Lakes Caravan Park at the end of Boat Ramp Access Road, Godfrey Street
For travellers seeking additional facilities, Boort Lakes Holiday Park offers powered and unpowered sites, including lakefront options right on the water’s edge. Rates vary depending on the season.

2. Pyramid Hill
Pyramid Hill provides convenient facilities for RV travellers, with its caravan park located within walking distance of the town centre.
A public dump point is available at:
- Pyramid Hill Caravan Park, Victoria Street (public access – free)
The Pyramid Hill Caravan Park is a CMCA-friendly and pet-friendly park featuring 18 powered sites and 12 unpowered sites, along with laundry facilities.
Nearby, Terrick Terrick National Park offers additional camping opportunities and nature-based experiences, making Pyramid Hill a great base for outdoor exploration. Pets are strictly prohibited within Terrick Terrick National Park.

3. Wedderburn
Wedderburn’s RV Friendly site is located at Hard Hill Tourist Reserve, just a short distance from the town centre in a natural bush setting, ideal for relaxed camping. Facilities include BBQ areas, toilets, and showers, making it a comfortable base for exploring the district. The site is pet friendly, but animals must be kept on leash at all times.
Visitors can enjoy walking tracks around the base of Hard Hill, explore the surrounding flora and fauna, or climb to the summit to view historic gold mining remnants. A maximum stay of 4 weeks is permitted, with donations payable at the Wedderburn Community House (24 Wilson Street, Wedderburn) in Wedderburn or via EFT (refer to signs on site).
A dump point is located at:
- Wedderburn Caravan Park, Hospital Street (Free access for park guests and general public)
The Wedderburn Caravan Park offers powered and unpowered sites and a camp kitchen within a spacious park setting. Pet friendly cabins and sites are available.
