While the Loddon Valley covers a large area of northern-central Victoria, the region shares a fairly uniform dry temperate or Mediterranean climate. Expect cool to cold winters and warm summers with occasional very hot days. The climate is dry year-round although most years the winters are somewhat wetter than other months.
The summer average maximum temperature is 32°C, however days over 45°C are experienced and summer nights are a comfortable 15°C on average. In autumn and spring the daytime temperature is generally in the low 20s with some cooler or hotter days. At this time of the year the night time temperatures can vary from the low teens to single digits so if you are camping make sure you are well prepared for cold conditions. In winter the nights can drop below 0°C, while the days can vary from low teens to low 20s.
