Outdoor adventures

For those curious about discovering new places, walking or hiking at one of our many stunning state & national parks and reserves are a must. These are our recommendations:

  • Mount Egbert - Located 30 minutes from Wedderburn, 'The Granites,' as the locals call it, is a delightful place to explore and discover the natural beauty of the surrounding Wychitella Nature Conservation Reserve.
  • Queens Gully Trail - As you meander through the bush, the Mallee scrub and open stretches of Box-Ironbark Forest, discover historical sites such as Nancy Stokes Cottage, Tower Hill View, and the famous Lonely Grave.
  • Little Lake Boort - spend an afternoon in Boort with a gentle walk or ride around little lake Boort. And if you are adventurous, you may even wish to go canoeing.
  • Tarnagulla Reservoir Track - this walk allows you to explore the heart and history of Tarnagulla through the bushland among box-ironbark trees and stunning flora and fauna. You may even stumble across a gold nugget.
  • Pyramid Hill - Walk around the base of Pyramid Hill or enjoy spectacular views from the summit. Visitors can also enjoy a picnic at the base, with tables and toilets available. Please note that the track to the summit is steep in sections and requires some rock scrambling to reach the top.
  • Mount Hope -  Just outside of Pyramid Hill, you will find striking granite outcrop nestled in the beautiful countryside. As you take the gravel road to Mount Hope, you will be amazed as you approach this hidden gem.
