Greg and Heidi Wane

Photography was a skill Greg developed as a teenager. He worked after school to earn money to buy his first camera - aKodak Brownie Starlet and later joined a camera club in Geelong. Greg: “It is the natural world of plants and animals that is my main interest. I enjoy the challenge of capturing the tiny detail in flower petals, the colours, the shapes and textures. Animals are a different type of challenge, they can be unpredictable requiring a load of patience to get the shot. More so with birds.” Heidi self-taught and her photography is a hobby. She mainly uses her iPhone but sometimes will reach for her compact camera with a longer lens. Heidi is fascinated with shapes , repetitiveness, light, patterns and colour. Heidi: “I am drawn to building facades, cars, sop windows, musicians, mushrooms, trees and anything quirky. I am new to exhibiting my work at art shows, I was in total shock and was absolutely thrilled when I won the Best Photograph in Show at the highly respected Mortlake Art Show in June.” Greg and Heidi live in Camperdown.
