Embrace the tranquil charm of the Serpentine Creek Canoe Trail, a hidden gem at Durham Ox

The five-kilometre Serpentine Creek Canoe Trail features six bright yellow buoys at points of interest along the creek, such as large scarred trees and ring trees. The trail shares historical and ecological stories and a fantastic view of this area's diverse birdlife. The launching area is located on Whytcross Road, which you will find off Boort-Pyramid Road.

Lessons and tours

If you or your family are interested in learning the basics of canoeing, Boort Lakes Holiday Park offers 30-minute lessons that cover safety measures, paddle usage, technique, balance in the canoe, safe steering, and entering and exiting the canoe. These lessons cost $30.

Once you have learned the ropes, You may wish to go on a group tour with your friends and family at the Serpentine Creek Canoe Trail. A guide can ensure your group sees all the amazing sights. The cost of a guide is $180 per tour. Canoe transport fees will be waived on the hire of the guide, and free lessons will be offered. A minimum of at least 24 hours notice is required.
