One of the true treasures of the Loddon Valley is Piccoli’s Spanner Sculptures; a two-acre open-air gallery sent within an oasis of ornamental trees and exotic birds.

The property and 1920s family homestead are a treat to visit, but John’s remarkable works leave the lasting impression. At the height of the drought, around the year 2000, John had time to clean up around the family farm and found 600 rusty spanners in the process. He began welding the old tools together to make small ornaments, but his new-found talent quickly evolved. John has since collected more than 100,000 spanners, crafting them into dozens of larger-than-life, awe-inspiring sculptures.
