Morning Session: Real to Reel– UK Craft Film Festival. 32 short films featured in two sessions back-to-back.
Craft Victoria and BUDA are proud to host the Victorian regional premiere of the Real to Reel Film Festival, 32 short films celebrating craft and makers from around the world.
The Real to Reel Film Festival presents 32 short films on extraordinary craftsmanship showcasing the passion and skill of makers from around the world.
Witness scrap metal being transformed into astonishing eyewear, a portrait of one of the oldest potteries in Japan and the vibrant tradition of making dance masks and costumes in Mexico.
Three films in the international selection are from Australia. The renowned Tjanpi Desert Weavers have created two animations about life in remote Central and Western desert camps and the role that dogs play. Gifted West Australian wood artisan Neil Turner features in a short film about the passion which drove him to give up farming and pursue woodturning, leading to a highly rewarding life creating beautiful pieces from native Australian timbers.
The Real to Reel medley of films will be presented in two back to back screenings at Castlemaine’s historic Theatre Royal on Sunday 16 February.

Session 2: 11.30am-12.35pm

BOOKINGS REQUIRED - Tickets are available online or at the Theatre Royal box office on the day. Single session $24 per person / Double session $40 per person.
