• Castlemaine State Festival

Overview

The Castlemaine State Festival spans ten days of art, music, performance, conversation, and celebration woven across Castlemaine, Chewton, Maldon, and Newstead.

For its 50th anniversary, the Castlemaine State Festival has leaned into everything that makes it what it is: distinctive venues, inventive programming, local creative brilliance, and gatherings that bring the community together.

Audiences can expect concerts in churches, new, exclusive and international work, late-night electronic sets, playful family shows, thought-provoking conversations, site-specific works, visual art across the region, and the return of both the Opening Night Street Party and the free Garden Party.

It is a big year, and a big program — and this is only the beginning! Check out the full program here.
