Lantern tour by a costumed guide through the historic cemetery to learn about who's buried there and the symbolism of the grave markings
As the sun sets over Castlemaine, history will be brought to life as we explore one of the most interesting cemeteries in Central Victoria. Nestled in a tree-lined gully of Campbells Creek, the cemetery, holds the stories of the 20,000 people who are interred within the grounds. Opening in 1853, the cemetery holds hidden secrets which the team at Twisted History will bring to light as we share the meanings and symbolism of the different graves we pass. Be it on the summers breeze or a winter's foggy night, you won't believe the people who once called Castlemaine home.
