Overview
The gallery occupies a two-storey 1860s building in Castlemaine’s CBD, 100 meters from the railway station, 150 metres from the Post Office and 250 metres from the Visitors Information Centre. Fig Café is next door, nearby are the Origini, Saint Florian, Wild and Togs cafes and other excellent restaurants.
Falkner Gallery specialises in historic and contemporary art by Australian and Overseas artists. Various printmaking, painting, drawing and photography techniques are displayed in five gallery rooms in frequently changing exhibitions. Selected Australian sculpture, ceramics, crafts, jewellery and giftware are also exhibited. Archival framing service. Open Thursday to Saturday 11am - 5pm or by appointment (Galley is generally closed in January and June/July for Summer and Winter Recesses).
