Known for many years as the apple epicentre of Victoria, with a fruit growing history that dates back to the 1800s, Harcourt is currently experiencing incredible success with cider and locally produced apple juice. A drive up Mount Alexander to enjoy the views, walking or mountain biking along a section of the Goldfields Track is the perfect way to get a dose of fresh air and exercise whilst admiring the stunning granite formations dotted throughout the landscape. Mountain bike enthusiasts will also enjoy the newly opened La Larr Ba Gauwa Park which includes 34 kilometres of mountain bike trails. There are 11 trails that cater for riders of all abilities.
Throughout the year Harcourt hosts several events with an authentic local flavour - from the Harcourt Applefest in March, through to more intimate gatherings at local wineries. Be sure to keep an eye out for details.
