Claremont Garden Cottage is on the property "Claremont" dating from 1857. It is situated on 12 acres, surrounded by garden, yet within the boundaries of Castlemaine town. We are a pleasant walk from the Botanic Gardens, along country lanes, with an abundance of wildlife.
At Claremont we aim to provide a private, old world atmosphere for those looking for a comfortable stay in an historic, garden environment. *Pets are welcome by prior arrangement. Please note that a $30 cleaning fee is payable per booking, added at checkout. The Garden Cottage is an 1860s bed-sitter with ensuite, set close to the owner's house, in its own leafy lane. It is a peaceful setting for a couple looking for an intimate stay in an historic building. Includes kitchenette with fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster and electric skillet. Tea and coffee supplied.
Directions
From the Post Office clock tower, go north along Barker St (main road through town) 7 blocks. Turn left into Parker St, cross railway crossing and turn right into Downes Rd, Botanic Gardens on left, railway on right. Take first road on left, Froomes Rd, then first on right, Burnett Rd. Claremont Coach House (no 7 and big sign on fence) is 4th property on left, under street light. Go up long driveway to the end, 200 metres.The Garden Cottage is through house gates on left.
