Loddon Valley Arts Trail 2024 Events
This year’s Loddon Valley Arts Trail is packed with exciting events for visitors to enjoy. There is something for everyone with art based workshops, guided tours, expert talks and of course celebrations to mark the opening and closing of the 3 day affair. When: Friday 4th October, 5.00pm - 6.30pm
Community barbeque get-together, with food provided by the Inglewood Football Netball Club and live music by Jam in the Van, to celebrate the Arts Trail weekend with the artists showing Tarnagulla Hall. Supported by the Loddon Flood Recovery Fund. Free: all welcome

Inglewood's grand Victorian mansion, now boasts a magnificent original mural artworks by Shawn Lu. Owner Lisa Calandro will explain the commission and how it was completed. Free: places limited - SOLD OUT

Shadow Art: Workshop with Lorena Carrington

Artist illustrator Lorena Carrington's workshop invites participants to explore their local surroundings and use found objects, and the cyanotype process (one of the earliest forms of photographic printing), to create their own montaged creatures and landscapes. Seeing is Believing: Afternoon Tea at Wedderburn Coach House Gallery

Is art a kind of magic? Surrounded by the photographs of husband and wife duo Greg and Heidi Wane, theatre, tv and book writer Bill Garner talks about what happens when beliefs and visual evidence collide – and how magic is the art of manipulating seeing. Bill’s talk, served with afternoon tea, is a free event, supported by Loddon Shire Council’s Community Flood Recovery Program funded by the Australian and Victoria Governments. Plein Outdoors Painting Day

Join in as Pyramid Hill heads out of doors for a convivial day of landscape painting. Seeing the beautiful outdoors (and the mysterious Pyramid that dominates this landscape) will get those creative ideas flowing. Free event, materials available to purchase. The Good Oil: Let's Talk Eucalypts

What's special about eucalypts? Do we understand their place in our landscape? Join writer Sophie Cunningham (City of Trees) and furniture maker Damien Wright (Wright Studios) for a discussion about wood in history, now and for the future. Sophie will tell us about her research into Russell Grimwade, one of the men behind the eucalyptus oil industry and author of the 1920 book, An Anthropology of the Eucalypts. Damien will show us one of his latest creations, using foraged timber. Local artists' work will be on display as well as produce stalls and people from the Loddon Landcare and Friends of Kooyoora groups.
