Health Hygiene and Remedies in the Leviny home during the Victorian and Edwardian Eras
Buda House Exhibition December 2019 – March 2020
People of the Victorian era were very concerned with health issues, but the crucial links between hygiene and disease were not yet fully understood. After mid-century people’s general health improved measurably with the many major medical breakthroughs that had occurred. This intriguing exhibition gives an insight into the health issues on the goldfields and beyond, with family anecdotes and fascinating insights into maternity and childbirth, homeopathy, first aid, electrotherapy and healthy outdoor living.
