Bendigo Comedy Festival

Overview

The Bendigo Comedy Festival started in 2018, and now in its fifth year it has grown to hold over 25 shows, in seven venues, across five days.

In October 2024 we’re bringing to stages across Bendigo big name acts like Dave Hughes, Damian Callinan, Bron Lewis, Luke Heggie, Nath Valvo and Kirsty Webeck.

Bendigo will also be hosting award winners like Zoe Coombs Marr (2016 Best Show, Melbourne International Comedy Festival), and Claire Hooper (2024 Piece of Wood, Melbourne International Comedy Festival), plus Ray O’Leary (2024 nominated Best Show, Melbourne International Comedy Festival).

We’ll have local acts including Mike Elliott, Poppa Rosaia, Sean Press, Josh Wosley, Paƫ Fawcett, Dane Knowles, Jim Hallawell, and Luke Morris. Plus line-up nights, free shows, Auslan access, and a special Bendigo premier of the Emu War movie (filmed in Axedale, and winner of Best Film at MosterFest 2023).

And of course a big opening Gala night featuring acts from across the festival and special guests unique to the Gala including Geraldine Hickey, Matt Stewart and more to announce. This is a massive chance for Bendigo to get out, smile, see acts that wouldn’t be here otherwise, and feel good in our great city.
