At the heritage-listed Bendigo Joss House Temple, a Chinese place of worship which was opened in 1871, you will discover more about Chinese beliefs and the story of the Chinese who came to Bendigo in search of gold.
Constructed using locally handmade bricks and painted red – symbolising happiness, strength and vitality – the Bendigo Joss House Temple is considered a significant and unique part of Bendigo’s cultural history.
Entry by donation on arrival. The temple is open each Saturday - Sunday, 10:30am - 3:00pm, with last entry accepted at 2:30pm.

Refunds are not available for pre-purchased tickets late arrivals no shows or participants who commence a tour but choose not to complete it.
Bendigo Heritage Attractions will happily reschedule the tour time or date of pre-purchased tickets up to 24 hours before the scheduled start time. If a tour cannot be rescheduled a voucher will be issued instead.
If Bendigo Heritage Attractions cancels an experience or tour your experience/tour will be rescheduled to a mutually agreeable time or a voucher issued.
