Overview
Where heritage and food collide. A little farm, aspiring to make a big difference.
Peppergreen Farm is a social enterprise of WISE Employment, offering sustainable, supported employment to people with disability, in an inclusive space for the whole community. We operate a commercial produce garden and cafe. We also have on-site venue hire available, and have a selection of programs for school groups.
Our farm shop is home to fresh produce grown here at the farm, unique gifts made by local artisans, and relishes and jams which we make from surplus produce. Our café is open for breakfast and lunch, and our seasonal menu reflects which crops are in season.
Our site also has rich historical significance. The land has housed a market garden since the 1850’s, when Chinese immigrants settled in the area during the gold rush. We are also home to a Chinese brick kiln, which is incredibly rare and believed to be the only one of its kind outside of Asia.
We employ more than 60 people with disability, in a range of roles from customer service to horticulture. Every cent we make goes directly back into the farm, and creating new opportunities for our team.
Peppergreen Farm is the perfect destination for anyone wanting to support a social enterprise, sample Bendigo’s finest fresh produce, or engage with the rich history of Central Victoria. Come in and see for yourself!
