Living Arts Space

Overview

The Living Arts Space is attached to the Bendigo Visitor's Centre which located at the front of the majestic historic Post Office building, in Bendigo's Pall Mall. The Space offers professional Central Victorian creatives somewhere to showcase their work through carefully curated exhibitions, demonstrations, performative works, workshops and artist talks. The Living Arts Space is greatly enjoyed by visitors and locals alike

CURRENT EXHIBITION

Living Arts Space Small Portrait Prize 2025
The Living Arts Space Small Portrait Prize, celebrates the people of the Greater Bendigo Region, telling the stories of our diverse and passionate population.

Local artists over the age of 16, were asked to submit their best two-dimensional, small portrait (A3 or smaller) with submissions accepted on any flat material and using the artists' favourite medium. Sculptures and photographs were not part of this prize.

Michellie Chavart, Curator of Djaa Djuwima, was engaged to select the finalists on display in the Living Arts Space. Lauren Ellis, Bendigo Art Gallery's Curatorial Manager, selected our winning artist and highly commended who will be awarded cash prizes of $2,000 and $500 respectively.

The Living Arts Space received a diverse selection of submissions, highlighting the many faces of Bendigo, and the showcasing the talent of the Goldfields Region. Visit us to view the incredible artistic flair of Bendigo's creatives, including the winning entries, on display in the Living Arts Space at the Bendigo Visitor Centre from 3 May - 20 July, 2025.

Join us on Saturday 3 May from 2-4pm for the Exhibition Opening Celebration and to witness the winning submission announcements and presentation.
