Located directly opposite Bendigo Art Gallery and the Capital Theatre, the La Trobe Art Institute (LAI) gallery is a multipurpose visual arts facility run by La Trobe University. The award winning building, designed by architect Peter Elliott, features two galleries, two sculpture courtyards, a tiered auditorium, meeting room and an artist-in-residence apartment and studio.
In addition to an exhibition program that presents cutting edge contemporary visual art, LAI engages with the community through a public lecture program, artist floor talks and education programs. The LAI gallery also offers a unique space to host conferences, staff training, meetings, public seminars - even film screenings. The facilities are available 7 days a week, including after-hours.
The 90 seat auditorium has excellent audio-visual facilities. Quality catering to suit your requirements can be served in the reception area, adjacent to the auditorium. Guests will enjoy the modern setting and the opportunity to view the current exhibitions. Find out more about facility hire on the LAI website.
