48 Hours in Bendigo Itinerary

Or take a guided walking tour with Bendigo Walking Tours through the city's CBD or discover the grande residence and mystery that is Fortuna Villa.

LUNCH:
Get your taste buds around international cuisine, the options are endless.  Or grab a bite to eat from one of our friendly local pubs full of historic charm with a modern take. 

EARLY AFTERNOON:
Explore the extraordinary collection of one of Australia’s largest and most impressive regional art galleries, Bendigo Art Gallery. Or venture a little further on a self-guided tour of Bendigo’s Artists Walk exploring galleries, laneways, studios and artisan wares or a guided Street Art Tour with local artist Nacho Station.

LATE AFTERNOON:
Explore the Dai Gum San precinct linking the Golden Dragon Museum, Yi Yuan Gardens and Guan Yin Temple while learning about our Chinese history.

DINNER:
Take your dining to a whole other level. To a basement, bank vault or a balcony of one of Bendigo’s many repurposed heritage buildings.

EVENING:
Catch a movie at Star Cinema, formerly the Eaglehawk Town Hall, from the comfort of your own couch with a glass of local red wine in hand.  Or take a moonlit walk along Pall Mall and View Street, a memorable way to see the city's most iconic heritage buildings and monuments lit up.

EARLY MORNING:

Walk, run or ride the Bendigo Creek Trail through the city's heart, past inner suburbs, Rosalind Park and Lake Weeroona.

LUNCH:

Curb your appetite and grab a bite to eat at a local cafe, provedore or cellar door.  Meet the makers of produce and boutique wines.  Shiraz is our specialty, but new Spanish and Italian varieties are now available.  

EARLY AFTERNOON:

Try your hand at wheel throwing at Bendigo Pottery, discover your inner child at the Discovery Science & Technology Centre, or visit The Great Stupa near historic Eaglehawk for an afternoon of spiritual wellbeing.

DRINKS:

Kick off your night with laneway drinks. Choose from an extensive range of craft beer, boutique wines and cocktails hand selected by local bartenders. Or make your way to a hidden beer garden.

DINNER:
