The team at The Dispensary are affable hosts with just enough beverage-geek spark to ensure you feel right at home without being creepy, maybe a little creepy!

Join us at one of our experiences to learn more about the history of gin & whisky, that will give you the knowledge to talk like a pro!


Gin Experience

Dates: 2nd Saturday of the month. 3pm - 5pm

Our Gin Experience will be a unique and fun way to get to know the history of gin & distilling methods. As well as learn and taste a variety of Australian Gins such as Animus from Kyneton, Four Pillars from Healesville & more.

Our aim by the class end is to give you the knowledge to talk about distillers in Australia and how they vary from those abroad, plus all the different gins on offer.

What you will learn
• A world history of Gin
• Distillation processes
• Australian gin development
• Botanicals used in gin
• How to make the best G & T

What you will get
• On arrival Dispensary G & T
• 5 x samples of Australian craft gins
• An infamous Dispensary steamed Bao Bun
• 2 x hours of stories and information
• A fun 2 hours with a new appreciation of gin


Whisky Experience

Dates: 4th Saturday of the month. 3pm - 5pm.

Our Whisky Experience will be a unique and fun way to get to know the history of whisky & distilling methods, as well as learn and taste a variety of local and imported varieties. You will get to sample Australian, Japanese & Scottish whiskies, among others.

Our aim by the class end is to give you the knowledge to talk about whisky like a pro!

What you will learn
• A world history of Whisky
• Fermentation through to Distillation processes
• Australian whisky development
• Understanding varietals, single barrel, malt, cask strength etc
• Regions and their endemic traits.

What you will get
• An arrival Dispensary G & T or refreshing ale
• 5 x samples of Whisky
• An infamous Dispensary steamed Bao Bun
• 2 x hours of stories and information
• A fun new appreciation of whisky

Gin & Whisky Masterclasses: No cancellations/refunds are allowed at any time. PLEASE NOTE: All classes require a minimum of 6 people. If your booking is cancelled due to insufficient numbers you will be fully refunded. Meet the Maker events: Tickets are refundable with 48 hours notice. All other events: Refundable up to 3 days prior to the event.
