The hammies will be aching after a day on one of many Bendigo cycling and walking tracks. Pace yourself riding or walking on the oh-so-civilised suburban Linear Trail, or go all Tough Mudder on the Goldfields Track; a 210-kilometre mountain bike trail following the old gold route between Bendigo and Ballarat.
It’s not all one extreme to the other, Bendigo’s parks and gardens, trails and tribulations cater to all fitness levels. The O’Keefe Rail Trail is a gorgeous ride or walk that follows the old railway track between Bendigo and Heathcote, passing through river-side Axedale. It’s perfect for the family that rides together.
