Djaara Lights

Launching November 7, Djaara Lights is one of Bendigo’s most unique and cultural activation experiences to date. This activation highlights Dja Dja Wurrung culture in the Bendigo region through the combination of Djaara artwork and augmented reality experiences. Experience a sequence of activations telling the stories of the Dja Dja Wurrung six seasons on Djandak (Country) from Dja Dja Wurrung People, the Traditional Owners of Bendigo.

Download the Djaara Lights Augmented Reality app to view artworks created by First Nations artists as you stroll along Oscars Walk boardwalk following the lights to view ‘I am Djaara’, an illuminated mural.

Summer of Cellar Doors

Calling all wine lovers! What better way to welcome in summer than to celebrate with a whole season of wine pop up events, experiences, tastings, masterclasses and so much more throughout the Heathcote wine region.

Festive Foods on Lyttle Eat Street

Head down to Festive Foods on Lyttle Eat Street, Saturday December 4 from 10am - 2pm, to taste, discover and pre-order all the new and delicious food and drink discoveries ready for your Christmas table. Meet the traders and make new friends, learn something new, and get organised.

For many of our festive products, this is your last chance to place your order ready for end of year events and Christmas collections, including meats and small goods, salads, fresh fruit and vegeables, lollies, beverages and sweet treats. Yum!

Summer in the Parks

It’s one of Bendigo’s favourite family-friendly events, Summer in the Parks is back with a program full of free or low-cost events and activities throughout December, January and February. The program kick starts with the lighting of Bendigo’s biggest Christmas Tree and continues throughout summer with open air cinemas, live music, kids sporting activities, Australia Day celebrations, and so much more.

Elf Academy

It’s official, Santa Claus has confirmed that the Elf Academy is returning to Central Deborah Gold Mine, December 16 – 23. This prestigious training facility is designed especially for Santa’s little helpers, providing them with all the skills they will need to join Santa’s renowned team. 

The surface of Central Deborah Gold Mine will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland where carols, baubles, reindeers and candy canes are all part of the festivities. Kids can join in a series of different craft activities, games, skills and challenges required to become a fully qualified Elf.

Recruits will learn how to care for a reindeer and other animals in Santa’s Stables, paint a tree ornament, create their own wrapping paper, prepare reindeer food, practice stacking presents and most importantly, prepare Santa for his trip around the world.
Best of all, your little ones will be the big guy, Santa Claus himself!

Blues and Roots Music Festival

It’s back! Lock it in, from the February 10 – 13, the Bendigo Blues and Roots Music Festival is bringing you four massive days of performances and workshops throughout Bendigo. That’s over 120 acts at over 40 venues for everyone to enjoy!

Enjoy live music performances, open mic opportunities, jam sessions and workshops. The centrepiece of the program is a day-long family-friendly concert featuring more than a dozen acts over two stages in the picturesque Rosalind Park on Saturday February 12.
