1. It’s Not Just About The Garments
The exhibition also features archive sketches, patterns, photographs, hats and shoes, fabric samples, catwalk footage and a unique collaboration with x-ray artist Nick Veasey.
If you’re not already familiar, we love a fashion exhibition here in Bendigo. And with the recent success of Maticevski and Marimekko, Bendigo Art Gallery is now hosting the incredible Australian exclusive, Balenciaga: Shaping Fashion.
Proudly brought to Bendigo from the Victoria & Albert Museum in London, the work of iconic fashion revolutionary Cristobal Balenciaga features designs crafted in the 50s and 60s. With some 200 pieces on display, you can expect to see pieces from the height of his creative period through to the work of his protégés and contemporary designers who continue to highlight innovative ways.
