Hello Autumn!

Summer may be over but there’s so much to be excited about as we head into the cooler months. Autumn is an amazing to get outdoors and explore the Bendigo region. One of our all time favourites is, without a doubt, our autumn leaves! Young or old, stomping on crunchy leaves, catching them as they fall from the trees above and finding all the golden hues of autumn is so much fun. Explore By Tram

Bendigo’s autumn foliage can be found throughout the city centre. A fun and uniquely Bendigo way to see it all is via one of Bendigo Tramway’s Vintage Talking Tram. Jump aboard a tram at Central Deborah Gold Mine and spot beautiful autumn hues as you pass the Cathedral, along Pall Mall and its beautiful European grand architecture, past Lake Weeroona, and everything in between.

Rosalind Park

In the heart of Bendigo, Rosalind Park is a glorious 60 acres of grassy open spaces and lush leafy trees that transform every autumn into a sea of gold, from the leafy canopies above, to a carpet of leaves underfoot and Bendigo Creek flowing with golden autumn leaves. For a birds eye view, head up to Rosalind Park's Poppet Head to get 360 degree views from above.

View Street

Venture into the beating heart of Bendigo's arts and cultural precinct on View Street for a tree-lined street filled with beautiful autumn leaves set amongst stunning gold rush era buildings. Wander up and down the street passing Bendigo Art Gallery and The Capital Theatre, stop in a much-loved cafe for a coffee or one of Bendigo's popular restaurants for a glass of local wine and food from Australia's first UNESCO City of Gastronomy. Yum!

Lake Weeroona

Local favourite, Lake Weeroona, is the jewel in Bendigo’s crown when it comes to family-friendly outdoor spaces. This beautiful precinct is set on 18 hectares and throughout the autumn months is surrounded by golden hues. Take a walk around the lake, enjoy a coffee or a bite eat, and your little ones will love the all-new playspace featuring a large timber fort for climbing, crawling, and sliding down.

Valley of Liquidambers

It’s time for a change of scenery. Make the 35-minute drive out to Heathcote’s prime picnicking real estate, the Valley of Liquidambers. Only a stone’s throw from the town centre, you’ll walk into blooms of brilliant red, burnt orange and golden desert shades. It’s a mecca for nature photographers and will not disappointment. Be sure to take the leisurely stroll back over the swing bridge before leaving.
