Let The Adventure Begin

With the crazy year that 2020 has been, it’s also given many of us the time to reflect, get back to basics and enjoy the simpler things in life. And with all that in mind, we’ve seen the resurgence of the Aussie caravan and camping holiday. Yep, with a staggering 80 per cent of people planning a camping holiday post COVID according to the Caravan Industry Association of Australia. And it’s not just ‘grey nomads’ now, we’re seeing a flood of young Aussie families and couples keen to get out there and start exploring their own backyard.  And why not?

Caravan and camping have come a long way with a broad range of options to choose from, whether you’re looking to camp in a tent or a swag, or you’re after a home on wheels with a caravan or motorhome. Camping is possible for anyone and everyone. It allows people from all ages and stages to get into the market, enjoy the great outdoors and explore our small towns, regions and locations off the beaten track.

With all this said, Bendigo is an awesome spot to set up camp for a stopover or weeks holiday.  The region is camping-friendly with numerous locations and facilities for families and grey nomads alike to settle in and get comfortable. So, whether you’re a first timer or an experienced camper, check out why we think Bendigo should be your next caravan and camping destination.

Family Friendly Holiday Parks

Caravan parks aren’t just an amenities block and patch of grass anymore, they’re holiday parks. We’re talking pools and water parks, playgrounds with jumping pillows, pump tracks, flying foxes and pedal karts, games, play and sensory rooms, cafes and coffee carts. Seriously, does it get anymore family friendly than that?! But if that’s not your scene and you’re looking for something a little more laidback, relaxing and a shady native bush setting, we’ve got that covered too.

Our favourite holiday parks to stay:
•    A-Line Holiday Park: a spacious park with a beautiful native setting.
•    Avondel Caravan Park: a small friendly park offering a comfortable stay to suit all budgets.
•    BIG4 Bendigo Ascot Holiday Park: an award-winning fun lifestyle park in a convenient location to attractions.
•    BIG4 Bendigo Marong Holiday Park: just 10 minutes from Bendigo, this spacious park offers great family friendly facilities with country hospitality.
•    BIG4 Bendigo Park Lane Holiday Park: situated on the outskirts of town and on the O’Keefe Rail Trail, Park Lane is a pet-friendly park, home to indoor play centre Parky’s Wonderland and boasts a great range of accommodation options.
•    Gold Nugget Tourist Park: family owned and operated holiday park offering great facilities and spaces to play and be social.
