Overview
Bendigo Art Gallery is the most visited regional art gallery in Australia due to the overwhelming success for presenting innovative international exhibitions. In addition to the international exhibition program, the Gallery is committed to developing and presenting programs and exhibitions that encourage participation and enjoyment by all members of the community, catering for all abilities.
Established in 1887, the Gallery has an extensive collection including paintings, ceramics, decorative arts, photography and works on paper and the Gallery actively collects contemporary Australian Art including the recently launched Australian Fashion Collection which focuses on contemporary Australian designers and First Nation practitioners.
Bendigo Art Gallery is currently closed to commence a major redevelopment. While construction is underway, the Gallery’s creative program continues across Bendigo, including the 2026 exhibition CURIOSITY: Building Breakthroughs in LEGO® Bricks (3 March–29 November 2026) at the Discovery Science and Technology Centre.
