'The ancient scale relationships located tiny humanity amidst the cosmic vastness. The cosmos remains unimaginably vast but we are on the verge of destroying the life-sustaining gifts of our planet home.
'By tradition 山水 (“mountains-&-rivers art”) represented a benign Nature; the ocean was a rare theme. Here mountains and rivers have become rough seas, and the couple, the artist and his partner, are taking elegiac joy in a final waltz.'
