Due to the Stage 3 "Stay at Home" restrictions being reinstated across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire outlined by the Victorian State Government please delay your visit until after restrictions have been lifted. People who present at the Gallery from these locations will not be permitted to enter for the safety of our staff and community.
Please refer to the following link for more detailed information regarding these restrictions:
Is the Bendigo Art Gallery open to the general public?
We re-opened to the public on Saturday 6 June at 10:00am and we are adhering to the guidelines issued by the Victorian Government.
What measures are being put in place to keep staff and customers safe?
Entry is restricted to a maximum of 20 people per gallery and physical distancing requirements are in place for all visitors and staff.
Increased hygiene measures include additional cleaning of high-touch surfaces and hand sanitiser is available for visitors as they enter. Additional staff throughout the Gallery are in place to ensure visitors are observing social distancing and to help manage visitor movement through the gallery spaces.
If you are unwell or in a high-risk category please consider your need to visit, your well-being is our priority!
Will I need to book before I visit?
As mandated by the Victoria State Government, institutions must keep data on all visitors. As a condition of entry we are required to capture the contact details of all visitors to assist with contact tracing in the event of a confirmed case of COVID-19. The information will be held according to relevant privacy law requirements.
As the Gallery has very limited visitor capacity, booking before you visit will enable us to manage capacity and will help to avoid delays and queues. If you do not book before your visit, please note that you may be required to queue outside or be unable to enter due to capacity restrictions.
Bendigo Art Gallery will provide further advice if there are any changes to these arrangements as the response to the pandemic continues to evolve.
Does it cost to book online?
Entry is FREE and there are no charges for booking online (unless specified otherwise for ticketed exhibitions).
What exhibitions are currently showing?
The current exhibitions at the Gallery are Bessie Davidson & Sally Smart – Two artists and the Parisian avant-garde and Ross Taylor: Field notes. Both are free exhibitions along with content from the Gallery collection.
Is the Gallery Café open?
The Gallery Cafe is open Wednesdays - Sundays from 10am.
We look forward to welcoming you to Bendigo Art Gallery and thank you for your patience and support as we all adapt to these new circumstances.
