Located in Bendigo, Victoria, we are one of the oldest and largest regional galleries in Australia. Our collection is extensive, with an emphasis on 19th century European art and Australian art from the 1800s, alongside a strong collection of contemporary Australian art.
Over the last decade, we have cemented a reputation for presenting innovative international exhibitions alongside a dynamic and varied suite of public programs and events.

Terms and Conditions of Public Entry
We are dedicated to providing an inspiring and safe environment for the enjoyment of art, while ensuring the protection of the artworks and the safety of our visitors and staff. Please review and comply with the following terms of entry to help us preserve this space for everyone.
By entering the Bendigo Art Gallery, each person agrees to be bound by the following Terms and Conditions of Public Entry:
While on the premises of Bendigo Art Gallery, you are required to refrain from:
- Touching, or in any other way, interfering with artworks on display.
- Using photographic or recording equipment in any areas where restrictions apply.
- Using tripods, selfie sticks, flash photography, or any lighting equipment without the express prior approval from Bendigo Art Gallery.
- Smoking, including the use of e-cigarettes, anywhere inside the Gallery.
- Consuming food or beverages within the Gallery.
- Bringing animals into the Gallery, except for Accredited Assistance Dogs.
Bendigo Art Gallery reserves the right to:
- Refuse or remove any individual from the Gallery, or part of any building/structure, managed or controlled by the Gallery.
- Inspect bags, luggage or any personal belongings upon entry and/or before leaving the Gallery.
- Create and use visual and audio records, including photographs, video and sound recordings, of events and activities at the Gallery for reporting, archival, and promotional purposes. These records may include images, film and/or sound recordings, including those captured through social media or other digital means.
- Monitor the Gallery premises with Security Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras for safety and security.
While at Bendigo Art Gallery, visitors must:
- Comply with any Gallery rules, policies, and signage.
- Behave in a manner which, in the reasonable opinion of Bendigo Art Gallery does not interfere with, disrupt, offend or disturb other persons in the Gallery.
- Cloak bags and any items deemed to be large by Bendigo Art Gallery at reception upon entry to the Gallery. Any personal belongings left in these reas are at the owner's risk.
- Place umbrellas in the tubs provided at the Gallery’s entrances, these items left are at the owner’s risk.
- Always wear appropriate footwear for safety.
- Supervise children or minors (including school students) in your care at all times and ensure their compliance with these Terms and Conditions.
- Comply with any reasonable instructions from Gallery staff, including signage, in relation to your entry or continued presence in the Gallery.
