'The weather's getting warmer now, a symptom of an increasingly volatile climate.
'Our political parties make no move to slow emissions. Instead, they carry on talking. And they carry on disagreeing.
'And we're getting frustrated, with the bushfires and the floods. With a future that looks pretty bleak. There are plenty of flora that won't survive a changing climate, but echinacea is not one of them. These hardy little North American plants can tough out droughts and frosts, and be ready to bloom again come summer.
'But many Australian natives won't bloom again, in warmer weather.'
