Bendigo Art Gallery
42 View Street, Bendigo VIC 3550
|13 Aug 21 - 13 Feb 22|
A new display of works from the Gallery’s collection explores the importance and versatility of colour as a tool in the artist’s kit. For millennia, artists have made use of colour to excite, communicate, and adorn; today, colour persists as a fundamental element of creative self-expression. Across a range of themes, materials, and techniques, the artists featured in this display use colour to create dynamic visual effects, evoke memories and emotion, and to make witty references to the history of art and culture.
Featured artists include: Gordon Bennett, Rosemary Laing, Georgina Cue, Karla Dickens, Ramesh Nithiyendran, Zhong Chen, Angelina Ngale (Pwerle).
