Frida Kahlo: In her own image is exclusive to Bendigo Art Gallery in Australia and the first time these authentic objects have been to Australia.
This exhibition is different from the touring exhibition about Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera from the Jacques and Natasha Gelman Collection, which has previously been showcased at the Art Gallery of South Australia (AGSA), the Art Gallery of New South Wales (AGNSW), and the National Gallery of Australia (NGA).

10:00am – 5:00pm daily including all public holidays.

Entry times begin at 10:00am and continue at 30 minute intervals until 4:00pm. Entry to the exhibition is permitted up to 25 minutes after the entry time printed on your ticket.
Once inside the exhibition, visitors can stay as long as they like prior to the Gallery closing at 5:00pm.
Pass-outs are not available.
Tickets are non-refundable and non-transferable. A $5 administration fee applies for ticket date and time changes.

General admission to Bendigo Art Gallery is free.
Timed ticketing
Timed tickets allow our visitors to experience the exhibition in a comfortable and relaxed manner, minimizing long queues and wait times.
Entry times begin at 10:00am and continue at 30-minute intervals until 4:00pm. We suggest allowing 60 minutes to view the exhibition.
No pass-outs
There are no pass-outs from the exhibition. You can stay in the exhibition as long as you like, however, re-entry will not be permitted.
Ticket purchase
Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the Gallery.
Each entry session has a limited number of tickets and may sell out. We strongly recommend purchasing your tickets online in advance to secure your entry and to help avoid queues and wait times.
Tickets can also be purchased in person at Bendigo Art Gallery, however we advise visitors to pre-purchase their tickets to avoid missing out on their chosen session time and to help avoid queues.

**PGAV and ICOM Members ticket prices are valid for members of Victorian public galleries that are part of the Public Galleries Association of Victoria (PGAV) and members of International Council of Museums (ICOM). Tickets are not available for online purchase.
***Family tickets are valid for two adults and two children under 15.

Companion cards.
We support the Companion Card program. Companion Card holders receive concession priced tickets and a complimentary ticket for their companion. Complimentary tickets for companions can be collected at the Gallery with a valid Companion Card.

There are no discounts for group bookings.
Photography
Photography is not permitted in this exhibition.
General Gallery terms of entry
The Bendigo Art Gallery is committed to providing a welcoming and safe environment that is conducive to the appreciation of art as well as protecting the art on display. To ensure the safety and security of visitors, staff and the artworks, we ask that you observe our Bendigo Art Gallery Entry Terms and Conditions.
Food and drink
To ensure the preservation of our artworks and the enjoyment of all visitors, food and drink is not permitted in the Gallery. Please be advised that loose food and drink cannot be accommodated within our cloaking facilities. We kindly request that any such items be either consumed or discarded before your visit to the Gallery.
The Gallery Café is located at the exit of the exhibition and other food and drink options are available nearby.
Cloaking
A free cloaking service is available. Backpacks, large bags and any oversized items must be cloaked upon entry to the Gallery.
Umbrellas
Umbrellas are not permitted inside the Gallery and the Gallery does not have the capacity to cloak umbrellas. Umbrella tubs are provided for your convenience however items left are at the owner’s risk.
Toilets
Toilets including accessible toilets are conveniently located near reception and the Rosalind Park entrance of the Gallery. For exact locations, please refer to the Gallery map.
Additionally, accessible public toilets are located nearby at the Queen Elizabeth oval.

Exhibition Seating
Limited seating is available in the exhibition. Please consider your capacity to stand for extended periods of time as seating availability cannot be guaranteed.
Wheelchairs and other mobility devices
The Gallery, exhibition spaces and most public areas are wheelchair and mobility scooter accessible.
A small number of wheelchairs are available for complimentary use within the Gallery with presentation of ID. To ensure availability, wheelchairs can be booked in advance by contacting reception on 03 5434 6088 or by emailing [email protected]
Assistance dogs
Accredited Assistance Dogs are welcome at Bendigo Art Gallery. Please ensure your Assistance Dog is wearing their jacket while in the Gallery. The gallery loves all dogs however Therapy Dogs, Emotional Support Dogs and Companion Animals do not have full public access rights under Victorian law and are not permitted in the Gallery.
Lighting levels
We protect the art by turning the lights down, and all artefacts in our exhibitions and collection are protected by the Gallery’s climate-controlled environment and security systems and are handled only by specialised staff. They are checked daily to ensure they are in good condition.
Please help us preserve the artefacts by refraining from touching or leaning into the displays.

Bendigo Art Gallery is located in at 42 View Street, Bendigo.
Bendigo is approximately 150 km north-west of Melbourne and can be reached by car or V/Line train.
Bendigo Railway Station to Bendigo Art Gallery is approximately a 15 minute walk. Buses run from Bendigo Railway Station to the Gallery (look for bus number 50, 52, 53, 54 or 55).

An off-street ticketed car park is located at the rear of the Gallery and limited ticketed parking is also available on View Street. Time restrictions apply.
A 15-minute drop-off zone is located at the front of The Capital Theatre neighbouring the Gallery.
