The Line, 2022
digital video, 4K, sound
The Line is a digitally produced cinematic drawing, where the objective of drawing is no longer a static image. The work develops within a temporal framework, each impermanent mark is recorded and manipulated to transform it into an evolving drawing.
Working in an endlessly manipulable digital format with a digitally produced voice-over, the frailty of decision-making within drawing is exposed, which reveals a personal struggle with the meaning and agency of drawing, whose flaws are integral to its validity.
