'Thai homes were very basic when I was a child. Everything happened in the one room.
'There was always something happening there. Families shared this one space and navigated each other, being mindful of things they needed to do or how they might be feeling.
'This shared space never felt overwhelming, it felt safe. You felt included and part of all aspects of family life.
'During our many lockdowns in Melbourne, I have been thinking about shared family spaces and the western/modern need for privacy and alone time. I find these subtitle difference in cultures interesting.'
