Bendigo Art Gallery is excited to announce that Melbourne-based designer Dale Hardiman will be speaking to VCE Design and Technology students.
Originally from Bendigo, Dale co-founded the furniture and object brand, Dowel Jones. His work features in the permanent collections of galleries including the Art Gallery of South Australia and the National Gallery of Victoria, and he has shown work in Singapore, Italy, UK, US and Thailand.
Hardiman explores the social, ecological and political life of materials and the systems through which they are made and supplied. His projects often interrogate the notion of place and how designed goods and systems are ultimately informed by people and communities exercising values, behaviours and attitudes towards resources and supply chains.
In 2021, Hardiman was named 1 of the 100 worldwide game changes in design by Architectural Digest Italy.
This is a great chance for students to learn from a leading Australian designer. Dale's experiences and insights will inspire and inform the next generation of designers.
