We are excited to present our collection displays and world-class exhibition schedule to VCE students and teachers. To book a Gallery educator or a self-guided tour, please use the booking form below.

For levels 11 and 12, we welcome self-guided tours and request that all self-guided tours be booked via the link below. This ensures that we can always allow for safe numbers of students in the gallery (and take self-guided tour numbers into account when planning other tours).

Please note, that if a self-guided tour is booked, teachers are responsible for the supervision of the group on the day.  We always aim to accommodate first preferences for day and time, however depending on tour bookings and the popularity of some exhibitions this may not always be possible.

Frida Kahlo: In her own image School Group Tour | Available Tuesday to Thursday at 9:30am

Immerse your students in the Gallery’s 2025 international exhibition, Frida Kahlo: In her own image.

This exhibition explores the powerful connections between Kahlo’s clothing and styling, her portrayal in photographs, and her artwork, including her famous self-portraits.

VCE 15 Minute Introduction Tour | Available Tuesday to Friday at 2pm

This tour is ideal for VCE groups who are conducting a self-guided tour of any of Bendigo Art Gallery’s exhibitions (including Frida Kahlo: In her own image). The tour gives a 15-minute snapshot of current collection exhibition/s of your choice either before or after your self-tour.

General Tour | Available Tuesday to Friday at 1pm and Friday at 10:30am

This 45-minute guided tour is suitable for students from kindergarten to university and can be tailored to your selected collection exhibition/s. For groups larger than 60, please contact [email protected] to discuss options.

General Tour & Workshop | Available every Tuesday at 10:30am

Join Bendigo Art Gallery’s Learn team for an engaging experience where students will explore Bendigo Art Gallery’s collection and create a unique artwork inspired by Frida Kahlo. This session includes a 30-minute guided tour, highlighting key works from the gallery’s collection, as well as a 30-minute hands-on Frida Kahlo inspired workshop in the historic Drury Court.

Perfect as an addition to a tour of Frida Kahlo: In her own image or as a stand-alone creative experience for your students.

First Nations Tour & Workshop | Available Wednesday and Thursday at 10:30am

With a First Nations educator, students will look, think and wonder as they are introduced to artworks from a selection of current exhibitions, with a specific focus on First Nations artworks. This experience supports Visual Art and First Nations Perspectives outcomes through mindful viewing, discussion and sharing within the gallery context.

Self Tour | Available Tuesday and Wednesday at 12pm and 2pm

This one-hour booking is available to VCE groups wishing to conduct a self-tour of Bendigo Art Gallery’s collection. Groups can choose from a range of self-tour options featuring Bendigo Art Gallery’s collection.

Booking Instructions:

All bookings incur a $5 booking fee for Frida Kahlo: In her own image tour and any tour with a workshop. To avoid multiple fees, select ‘Continue Shopping’ after adding each booking to your cart and complete checkout in one transaction.
