Join First Nations Engagement Curator Lorraine Brigdale in the gallery for a free floor talk about current exhibition Watercolour Dreaming. This exhibition celebrates the movement of watercolour landscape painting which began in the 1930s with the now legendary artist Albert Namatjira and has continued to flourish through the generations and up to the present day. Watercolour Dreaming is the inaugural presentation of selected works from a major gift to Bendigo Art Gallery from the collection of Dr Beverley Castleman, spanning eight decades of artistic production and over 40 artists.
In this talk, Lorraine will share insights into working with this remarkable collection and curating an exhibition which highlights the generational influences and connections through the Namatjira family and artistic community of Ntaria Hermannsburg.
This is a free drop-in talk, no bookings required.
