Gallery Tours for Early Years Groups
At Bendigo Art Gallery, educator-led tours are free and tailored to engage all levels and abilities. Kindergartens and Early Learning Centres are welcome to book for tour experiences at Bendigo Art Gallery. Our programs are facilitated by art educators who design gallery experiences to extend curriculum-based learning, encouraging students to develop personal responses to art and enjoy the excitement of being in a public art gallery. Tours run for approximately 30 minutes and need to be booked at least two weeks in advance.
Throughout tours, children can expect to:
• Discuss art Visual Art elements, materials, procedures, and techniques
• Learn about featured artists and their practice
• Develop and share personal responses to art
To book a tour, please use the ‘book now’ button located below and select one of the following programs in the form.
Booking requests for over 20 students can only be facilitated Wednesday - Friday. To ensure a quality experience, each educator can work with groups of up to 20 students. For Early Years groups, we often break into smaller groups where possible. With two educators delivering tours, we can accommodate up to 40 Early Years students in the gallery at any one time (Wed-Fri). Larger groups can be accommodated over additional tour timeslots.
